Shelby, due with her first baby, found me through my Instagram account and I was delighted when she mentioned she would love to do her maternity photos at Jackson Park. Jackson Park in Peterborough, Ontario is such a beautiful spot and the variety in backdrops it provides with the trees, rivers, trails and bridges are perfect for celebrating a new baby, especially in the cold winter months. Trust me, they might not look cold but it was a bitter cold day. Doesn’t Shelby look stunning!
Pregnancy is such a special time in your world. You don’t always feel beautiful, you don’t always enjoy it, and it definitely comes with its challenges, but it’s so worth capturing. Your body changes so quickly as it grows this new life, and the anticipation of the time just before you get to meet this new little person is indescribable. Maternity sessions are best booked around 32-36 weeks – a time when you look pregnant enough, but you’re also hopefully not too ‘over it’. Including your partner is also really special. Shelby and Rasto are so excited about their new baby coming along – and I can’t wait to hear the news of his arrival!
